English/German to Albanian

How are you RBE lovers? I'm from Kosovo and currently studying physics and I want to spend my free time on translating material about The Venus Project into Albanian. I first saw The Venus Project in a Zeitgeist movie and told all my friends about it, and even spoke at the radio about it. But unfortunately, people took it very hard to imagine an economy without money, even though the principle of nature is RBE. Translating will also help me on learning how to talk to people about this topic and also improve my skills. I will start translating the book "The Best That Money Can't Buy" and the subtitles of the documentary "Paradise or Oblivion".

Welcome aboard. We always appreciate new volunteers who are interested in making these relevant information available to more people.

It seems, that there is no Albanian translation team right now. However, we might help you to help the world. :)
I am not that familiar with the global structure and how new teams are created. So you should talk to @Ray: or @Sue:
They are informed and will probably show up here soon.

Thank you for your patience.

Welcome Sparticle!
I'm doing very well. Thank's for asking, my friend.

The Albanian section of the forum had been deactivated a while back due to lack of active members, so I just reactivated it for your use. If you become aware of any other Albanians wanting to help with translation efforts, please feel free to invite them to join you there. Maybe you can even create a good size collaborative Albanian Team in time! ^^

Because it is not one of the many, many free items within our care, The Best That Money Can't Buy requires the use of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). To get involved with that important translation effort, simply send me an email with a subject line of: TBTMCB NDA Request and I'll get that right out to you.

Paradise or Oblivion has already been set up & fully prepared by the English Dep't (transcribed, proofread, time-adjusted and final reviewed), so it is available for translation by all other language teams. The information surrounding that project needs to be Copied to the Albanian section so you can use the new thread for any questions or issues you come across while working on it. I will take care of copying it over shortly after sending this reply.

Above all else, there is much global support here for anyone who makes use of it. If you have any questions, concerns, etc., please don't hesitate to start a thread in whichever board seems most relevant in the Help Desk section of the forum. We are here for you and everyone else.
(on a side note, Physics was one of my favorite subjects in college ;) )

I'm really glad you're here! :loveya:

Thank you very much for your warm welcomes!
Maybe I should try a different book like "DESIGNING THE FUTURE" and get more experience before making a step further. Saw the subtitles and will start translating them, fresh, tomorrow. Thanks a lot. I'm so happy that I joined this community.

My favorite physics topics are nano technology, quantum super computers, hyperspace, M-theory, It is sad that modern physics isn't much taught at my university. They like to get stuck at 4 dimensions, but M-theory requires 11.

You will find most text-based materials, including Designing The Future, already set up in Pootle for you to play with. If you are new to Pootle, it is our text-based translation-assist program, run directly on LTI's server and administrated by Borislav (lizardman) and myself. Instructions for registering, setting up and using Pootle are provided on its front page, with additional info in our tutorial. Again, if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask here in the forum.

What I find sad is that when I was taking those physics courses, they we're able to teach us any of those topics. You see, I was learning what humanity understood up to that point back in 1982. :pinch:
I've learned much more since emerging out of the lab than when I was it it, so it's all good. :D

It seems that I'm a user without translation rights. I was surprised to see some Albanian names on the Member Status page, under No Language Selected: Lum and Shkelzen. I'm glad to know that other Albanians are willing to help too.

Ah, good. There is not yet a dedicated person coordinating Albanian in Pootle, so I was hoping you would let me know once you were registered and selected your language/projects. I'm setting up your access now.

Yes, perhaps we can work out a way to contact those people to help guide them in. ^^

@Sparticle:

@Ray:
I know this is pig Latin for you. :D I am just proposing my help on how to build up a working team.

Thank you and sorry for the delay, I had a tough day.
@Ray:
Pootle respects me now! If we could contact those people, it would be great.
@ossi11111
@kassy:
You people are so kind. I hope so too, but It's really hard to get it alone. I get people always astounded by Jacque Fresco's designs, but just a few Albanians are scientific enough to understand the importance of RBE, so just a few will volunteer. They have first to understand that "Our Problems are Technical NOT Political". My main focus on doing these translations is to get myself prepared for giving lectures about The Venus Project.

Translating really helps to get educated. You really need to understand it both in the original language and in yours. I´ve been finding how helpfull it is to really go deep in understanding in a way that you can easily explain it to others. And I agree with you, most people tend to hold to their beliefs, and the political ones are really strong for them. And the ideia of tecnical solutions raises the ghost of science being used for evil and tecnology for destruction, which are very hard to fight against.

Another thing you could try is the TVP Foundation Course , which I find very usefull and interesting.

@Sparticle:

Welcome, Rock3r!
I just set you up in Pootle. Please feel free to ask any questions at all that come up. There is a lot to what we do here and with the addition of both you and @Sparticle:, we may be able to help you folks encourage more to come in and form into a strong Albanian Team.
Have a look around the rest of the forum, especially how other languages handle keeping each other up to date on what's going on within each project they are focusing on.
