Should be "...prevents information" not inflammation.
Thanks, Marija

I think that he says information too, but you guys judge :)

Hey Ana, it really sounds like he says "information", but "information" doesn't make sense given the context.

On of the purposes of meninges is to protect your brain from being directly exposed to open air in case of an open skull fracture, it's a protective membrane, so I'd stick with the original transcription.

Correct Bruno. The meninges are in fact a membrane that protects from inflamation and that is the word JF uses at my ears also :thumbsup:

Well spotted! He actually says "information" and it makes sense as he continues with: "Even if you think about certain things, It doesn't go out of your head. The meninges cover that." Here Jacque draws an analogy to a better explanation of telepathy and it's impossibility.

02:35 02:38 So we all have different associations. That why you can't have telepathy.

"information": agreed, Jacque clearly says this and it is in proper context against his follow-on words and hand motions around his head.

"That's why": agreed

"Fascism, in his head, it's dictatorship.": agreed, but "is" not "it's," and since sentence is so short the commas can be dumped, thus changed to:
"Fascism in his head is dictatorship."

Go ninjaproofreadaaa uuooOAAH! :tonguer:

Revised SRT file from the transcription is now uploaded to both the Working Locations and Repository Location :kewl: There are 5 languages in the Repo that need to revise these strings on their translations again, and a few more in the WL that might have to do the same, in case they started to proofread the translations already :eyeroll:

Now that's funny Bruno! LOL!

I agree ellipses are called for because of how Jacque trails off, but instead, how about we leverage his distinct hand motions in the vid (repeatedly pointing to his head) to augment his obvious meaning thus:

00:01:56,500 --> 00:02:01,500
And it's like a membrane, that prevents information [from entering].

I like it!

This seems like a good point for discussion. I don't think there is anything in the guidelines relating to such situations - completing a person's speech. So, this vid presents a good opportunity to work this out for the guidelines. I put it as an agenda point for the next meeting. :)

(For those that haven't heard, I'm back helping out LTI, and basically picking up where I left off from over a year ago.)

So I understand my last suggestion was declined in team discussion a year ago, so the srt stands as per Nomada's upload above on Feb 5, 2012, and I checked and it's still there undisturbed. So I will mark this post as closed.

I'm glad you're back to help with these cases where strong English skills are needed. :)

Here is the thread that documented that discussion: Making clarifications in the transcription

I saw that the ellipsis agreed upon above had not been added. So I went in and added it.

from
00:01:56,500 --> 00:02:01,500
And it's like a membrane, that prevents information.

Languages that have translations as of the time of this revision of the English transcription:
In the Working Location ( Jacque Fresco on 'Telepathy and the Spiritual World' - 13 Translation(s) | Dotsub ): Arabic[100%] , Bulgarian[100%] , Chinese (Simplified)[100%] , Chinese (Traditional)[100%] , Czech[100%] , English[100%] , French (France)[100%] , German[100%] , Italian[100%] , Polish[97%] , Portuguese (Brazil)[100%] , Russian[100%] , Serbian[100%] , Spanish[100%]

In the Repository Location ( Jacque Fresco on 'Telepathy and the Spiritual World' (Repository) - 7 Translation(s) | Dotsub ): Bulgarian[100%] , Chinese (Simplified)[100%] , Chinese (Traditional)[100%] , English[100%] , French (France)[100%] , Italian[100%] , Russian[100%] , Spanish[100%]

These languages would need to check their translations to see if they correspond to the revised English original. If changes in the translation are required, then simply apply them in the WL. If your language is in the Repository, you would need to also make a ToDo, so that the translation in the Repository can be replaced with the one in the WL. (Note: these detailed instructions may become outdated in the future. Post in this thread if you are unsure what to do to get your revised translation in the 'official' channels.)
