Where Are We Now?

Hey again, I found a typo and a word that I'm not sure what it means.

Working location: http://dotsub.com/view/dd83d532-7fcd-4a5c-a7f5-58f245ab4fe6

Quoted

02:30 - 02:33
Which is essentially a conceptual and technologiacal set of ideas,
Should be 'technological'. ;D

Then, there's this on the previous line:

Quoted

02:23-02:30
The Zeitgeist movement in function exists as a communitive representation of an organization called The Venus Project.
Is that a word Peter made up? O: Does he mean 'communicative'?

Actually, no one has worked on the English proofreading (or timestamp adjusting) yet, at least not within the LingTeam. This was transcribed and opened up for translations before the LingTeam was launched, making it one of the items that we need to put through the Final Proofreading project.

If you are in the middle of translating it, please save yourself the trouble of proofreading it until AFTER we've brought it in and made all necessary corrections to bring it in line with the LT Guidelines. Otherwise, you will end up having to put it through full proofreading twice. Hopefully, we can bring it in very soon. ;)

They claim that it's been fully proofread but I keep finding errors. :P I'll ignore them for now, unless it's something that makes me question the meaning of what is being said.

I think I found also a problem in "Where are We Now". I might be wrong, but it seems to me that what he says would actually make sense.
It says:
00:08:19 The fact is, most of the original problems, which require the development
00:08:22 of the economic system we see today, are no longer pressing

I think it should say:

00:08:19 The fact is, most of the original problems, which REQUIRED the development
00:08:22 of the economic system we see today, are no longer pressing

Good find!

Hi, Alberez,
Yes, I agree. It certainly needs to be past tense to make sense (LOL). It's difficult to know if PJ is saying 'requre' or 'required' because he speaks fast, but when I REALLY listen, I think I can hear him say 'required'.

Way to go!

I really appreciate the error reporting from you guys because I like to look at these and tax my old brain with English grammar traditions. :numb:
((hugs)) :bighug: to all,
Di :rose:

Great job there folks!! This really makes a difference when you are translating and think you are sure of what is being said and end up driving the viewers into error or confusion/distraction. Great effort!! I changed it in both the working location and the repository location.

seems obvious, but even so I prefer to wait for Di, MrB or Julie or any English proofer to give it a look before we change the Working Locations and the Repository Location

Another one my friends:
I don't kn ow if the first is important, but the transcript is abbreviated in relation to what the speaker says:

00:12:20.253 We are products of our society, and the fact is (Transcript)
00:12:20.253 We are products of our society, and the fact OF THE MATTER is (what he really says)

The second is a word missing:

00:12:23.516 it is very foundation of our socio-economic system (transcript)
00:12:23.516 it is THE very foundation of our socio-economic system (missing word)

Greetings

And here's another:

It says:
00:14:44.096 such exposure to set established curriculum

It should say:
00:14:44.096 such exposure to SAID established curriculum
That's what make sense to me at least.

Best
