The Venus Project - Science Vs Religion [Set the Record Straight] - error report

And it's because that men haven't taken on the responsibility of saying
(Even though Fresco says "that", is it grammatically correct or should it be omitted?)
end of the sentence: "Let's make the world a better place" rather then get down on your knees and saying "Let us have no more war, and let us have a brotherhood of man, and let our neighbors be peaceful and lovable..."

beginning of the sentence: Suppose I went to a doctor with ... gangrene in this region of the leg,
00:01:41.171
00:01:43.840
and the doctor says "Sit down," took out all his instruments,
(is "says" grammatically correct here or should it be "said"? Compared with the end of the sentence it seems like a mix of tenses.)
end of the sentence: put them on the table (very sincere doctor) and he said "Believe me, I hope your infection goes away, I really hope it does."

I need to veto both of these Ossi.

And it's because that men haven't taken on the responsibility of saying

... I see nothing wrong with this line as is. There's nothing wrong with the use of the word "that" IMO. I also see nothing wrong with the end of the sentence.

and the doctor says "Sit down," took out all his instruments,

It could go either way (says or said) but it is hair-splitting IMO. Jacque is telling a story here (and a funny one at that), and yes he chose to mix present tense with past tense (in the rest of the lines), probably for emphasis. IMO it's a literary device, to briefly put the listener in the middle of the action of the story, again for emphasis. Jacque does this frequently with his story telling; call it a "street talk" style, as opposed to story telling with perfect grammar every time. In conclusion IMO it is no big deal, reflects Jacque's "street-wise" character and style, and should be left as is.

I was not sure so I reported them as errors. Thanks for clarifying both.
I did not want to pretend that there might be something wrong with the end of the sentence. I just added it so you have the full sentence instead of just one line for better understanding.
