Recipients Groups, to allow easy group messaging

Is there any possibility of creating the option to form groups in your contacts, in a way that it would allow for easy/instant group messaging?
I searched for the possibility to create groups in the "My friends" and "Members" tabs, and for those features in the "create new message" page. No results ;(
