Ideas about a promotional video for LTI

This thread can be used to talk about the making of a video that would help us promote Linguistic Team international.

So far, we've agreed to making a very short video, maximum one minute long, where people would take turns saying a very short message (using webcams?).

Please share you ideas!

We can prepare a script as Frank pointed out like: 1. How did I get involved with LTI, 2. What was my first experience in the team work 3. What is the message I want to transmit to the people who speak the language I am translating in .... More ideas?

One question that may 'reach' a lot of people and encourage them to participate too is for members to explain 'Why' they choose to be part of the Linguistic Team.

I thought we could also include the very first fragment of Vixi's lecture in London where she starts speaking in a made up langauge. To me, it's both funny and inspiring

Hey, how about each person speaking (regarding the webcam idea) in their native language? Maybe that way more people feel identified with them. It could all be then "turned into" English for the different subtitling.

I am in support of this promotional vid idea; it would be a great global advertisement for LTI in 30 languages. And the suggestion just above is a very good one, that each person speak in their own language.

This is SUPERB Dario!! Short, sweet, and to the point- get it? :D Thanks for kicking this off!

So this vid is 15 sec. A 15 sec clip each x 30 translators == 7.5 minutes for the final compiled vid, a bit long. But say a 10 sec clip each x 30 == 5 mins, which is more reasonable. So I'd suggest each translator have 10 seconds (max) to blurt out their message, preferably in a fun and whimsical way, just like you did. Each translator's message is completely their own, unique promotion of LTI. Then wrap the compilation with a brief lead-in and/or trailer call-to-action message, maybe throw in a little background music, and we're done! This will be fun!

SO- which country will be next? Don't be shy, step up!

Oohmaaan I have to start thinking of something. Maybe I'll just film myself the whole day and cut the best 20 seconds out of the best inspiration I have in that period :tonguer:
