Hello all!

Hello everybody,

i am Greek and i would really like to contribute in the transcription team for a start. Also, i can assist in translation from English to Greek and vice versa if needed..

Can someone explain me how do you usually get to do transcriptions or translations, meaning how can someone start?

Thanks a lot! Really happy to be part of this community!

Hi gtologlou  welcome!!!

Interesting offer, to help with English transcriptions! Honestly, it is not the area where we lack more people. The English department is full of videos already transcribed and waiting to be proofread. And that is usually done by English native speakers. How is your English? You can see it in this table, in the tabs from the different stages in which the videos are:

It is also true that the Greek translations team is in a very low phase. There is a huge need for volunteers!!Wouldn't you like to focus in this instead? There is a new volunteer that just came in,helping to translate "Paradise or Oblivion". Here is his forum profile: http://forum.linguisticteam.org/user/402-alexgraphicd/

The Greek coordinator, you can send him a PM trough the forum too, is also called Alex: http://forum.linguisticteam.org/user/41-alexbiohazardous/

Now, while you wait for more info from Alex, here is a tutorial that will give you a very complete idea of what there is as tools and platforms of the LTI.

Feel free to ask here anything you need and/or ask for more info when you are ready to start or in case the Greek language team coordinator is absent in any private life issues (sometimes it happens to all of us, cyber-volunteers :D )

hugs,
Rodrigo
