Greetings from Hamburg/Germany! :)

Hi there! :)

I just joined the German LTI Team (English/German-Translator), first in order to help translating the venus project website into German language to increase media penetration.

BUT there's just one thing that's odd and makes me feel awkward.
Why is hypnosis technique used in both of the Zeitgeist movies?
Here some examples:
1. A calming voice which convinces the viewer to open their mind.
2. Scenes of war, violence and suffering to induce shock.
3. Flashing square, infinity tunnel and noisey "music" for 10 minutes.

I really like the thinking of creating and MAKING a better new world and WANT to be a part of the project.
But why this hypnosis technique to persuade the viewer?
Can anyone answer this question without flaming me?

Greetz from Hamburg,
Benny.

Hi Benny, I hope you'll feel comfortable within the German team.

As for your question, I don't think any of us can give you a satisfactory answer, your guess would be as good as ours.

The filmmaker himself is probably the only person who could give you his intent behind those techniques you're mentioning.

Hugs

Hi, BenHum, and welcome! Nice to see your motivation to spread these ideas. :)

About the Zeitgeist films, I think they are an expression of art and are thus subject to a very wide interpretation. You see a hypnosis technique, someone else might see setting of a particular mood, yet others may see parallels to certain previous pieces of art... It's all very subjective. That is art's both strength and weakness. :)

That being said, it's worth mentioning that I myself have worked on the translation of Addendum of Moving Forward and I find both films very tightly packed with a big amount of relevant information.

Just my thoughts. :) Cheers for your questions.

Cheers BenHum,

Great that you are here.
According to your statement I have to agree with lzardman and brunodc. It's Art and therefore subjectivly good or bad. I personally feel not disturbed by this element of the movie, because it's full of relevant information and that's where the potential is.

Please feel free to contact the TZM Linguteam Germany via linguteam@zeitgeistmovement.de oder via facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/205417089532268/ if you need any help or contact.

Greetings back to hamburg

Hi all together,

thanks for your thoughts towards my statement.

Nevertheless it's a try to hypnotise the viewer - but as you said, now also to my mind it's just an artwork referring to the brainwashing in this monetary economy.

I can live with that kind of answer - but what about the people I try to convince about my work in this project and ask them to join us? It may sound strange to them: "What? You're following a sect that works with hypnosis methods?!".
Now I'm able to answer with settled conviction that it's just an artwork.

Now, let's rock the world! :D

Greetz from Hamburg,
Benny.
