Jacque Fresco-Questions, Participation-Aug 7, 2011 - translation problems

00:08:30.842
00:08:34.478
He thinks he's part of nature because he doesn't know
00:08:34.618
00:08:36.482
that we depend on nitrogen.

What does Fresco mean with this sentence? I am confused. It would make much more sense to me if Fresco would say "He thinks he is not part of nature ...", but Fresco does not say that.

Please, could somebody rephrase the idea here because I do not get it.

I translated this lecture a long time ago and it seems that I didn't notice this sentence at all. Maybe he means that the normal person thinks he is related to the environment, because he breaths oxygen, but he doesn't have the knowledge what nitrogen do and doesn't care about nitrogen's functionality. So we don't depend only on one thing, it is a holistic system.

Thank you. I thought about it again too. Now my interpretation is that Fresco makes a difference between "believing"/"thinking" and "knowing". So because the normal person does not "know" that much they can only "believe" or "think" that they are part of nature. If they would have more information they would "know" how exactly they are part of nature.
