860 Ray Yesterday's attempt at upgrading the database hit some snags that required additional research to solve. Time will tell, but I now 'think' I have everything needed to run through it with minimal downtime. So, if you find yourselves unable to reach the forum, wiki, Pootle, etc., you'll know that we're still working on this. Apr 26th 2014, 11:59pm
859 Ray The server is now fully up to date and nothing blew up (Yay!). I still have yet to update the database. A bug in the update process kept me from completing that earlier, but I now have the fix for it and will try again late tomorrow. Apr 26th 2014, 11:15am
858 Ray Ok, given that there are many things that will be updated by bringing the server OS up to date, it looks like the best approach is to pull the trigger on that major upgrade instead of messing with all of these older apps. I have no idea how long this might take or how long it may take to adjust everything following the upgrade, however. Wish us luck and I'll see you on the other side. ^^ Apr 26th 2014, 6:36am
857 Ray Hah! The reason for the upgrade is to remove a couple of issues with the older version. Interestingly, the older version has since revealed one more 'issue' that is not allowing me to update it as easily as I would prefer. So, the update is being postponed until I can work through this new issue. I'll post another 'head's up' here about an hour before re-attempting it, but I can't say yet whether that will be today/tonight. Apr 26th 2014, 4:42am
856 Ray I'll be updating the database on our server just after 12PM (noon) UTC - about an hour from now. Since the database handles all of our data, the server (forum, Pootle, wiki, etc.) will appear offline during this operation. Please be sure to Save anything that needs saving just prior to that time if you're working directly in any of the LTI resources. I don't expect this to take more than a half-hour, although it's likely to be less. ^^ Apr 26th 2014, 12:02am

853 Ray My apologies to everyone who was using the forum when it went down earlier. An update to one of the server's security apps included a bug that killed the server. I'd say that made it VERY secure, although I doubt that's what they had in mind. Anyway, it took a few hours to hunt down the exact nature of the bug and remove it. Everything is now back online except for the wiki, which I'm currently working on. Apr 19th 2014, 11:35am

850 Ray Albert, we only received a small part of your post. Can you post again? Apr 7th 2014, 7:35pm
849 Ray Johnwang, we're working with a derivative copy of the book. For an original, you'll need to connect with Peter directly. Apr 7th 2014, 7:33pm
848 sydstf Dear all friends, Apr 7th 2014, 4:34pm
847 johnwang The book itself is Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike licensed so I'm puzzled why the ODT source text doesn't seem to be freely available alongside the PDF and HTML versions. Apr 7th 2014, 2:10pm
846 johnwang lizardman, I know someone who wants to improve the readability and navigability of the book as exported to PDF. The existing PDF's fonts are hard to read and the table of contents isn't hyperlinked. Apr 7th 2014, 2:09pm
845 lizardman johnwang, if you're not a translator, what are you aiming to do with the document then? Apr 7th 2014, 11:28am
844 johnwang Thanks lizardman, but I'm not a translator. I need the original ODT file, not derivative works like the HTML or PDF versions. Apr 7th 2014, 12:05am
843 lizardman johnwang, you can work on the translation here: Apr 6th 2014, 7:13pm
842 johnwang I'm looking for the original ODT file for TZM Defined. Where can I get it? Apr 6th 2014, 4:04pm
841 Ray Michael Ruppert's dire warning concerning potential human extinction is now open for transcription (link in my last shoutbox post). Assuming it's not fully reflecting reality (not taking the exponential growth of technology & human ingenuity into account), this video may have the potential to encourage a hell of a lot more people to snap out of their programming and realize how imperative it is for us to transition toward a global RBE and clean up the mess we've made. I'm hoping we can assist this one in going viral WAY beyond just English. ;) Mar 30th 2014, 11:27am
