My name is Heather, and I would love to help out with any English proofreading and translation. I do have a degree in English Literature and have studied linguistics, so I was elated to see my skills may be put to use for such an important project. Please let me know where and how to begin, and I will jump right in.

Greetings Heather! - and welcome to the family.

Here's a high level Intro to LTI:
Note all the vids we work on are in dotsub; we are not focused on Pootle.

If you want to help out in the English Dept, here is a 'First Timers' tutorial:…eral_Guidelines

You can start by reading thru it and check out every link it refers to, such as the LTI Guidelines, using dotsub, and Glossary.
FYI the "5 stages" approach is rather defunct these days for lack of manpower. Instead I have come up with my own "solo" technique here:

There are several subtitle editing tools out there, but the one I am most comfortable with is Aegisub at It is amazingly powerful and fairly user friendly and intuitive once you get the hang of it. I caption all my vids with it.

Finally here's a quick reference.…nd_Proofreaders

Once you get thru all that, the Active vids page is below, just pick one and get started captioning.…ctive-projects/
Let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely & Regards
