The Venus Project Website

This project contains articles and web interface elements presented at The Venus Project main website.
The items listed below are viewed as the most important for us to translate, fully proofread and quickly get them up on site. The rest of the project's pages can be translated and added as they are completed.

Before starting on any project, connect directly with your respective language team to join these projects from the inside.
Once complete, each Language Team needs to create a ToDo so that the team's results can be added to the TVP website and promoted all over the place!

There is a volunteer willing to review the Portuguese_Portugal translations of The Venus Project Website. These translations are completed and proofread but could use another review on top so it corrects small stuff always found here and there, but especially because they are from the time of the old website.

The translations are in Pootle and saved in google docs, @lizardman: What is the best place to do this review? It can be done in the google docs? Are here any considerations to have during the process, maybe because of differences between the old and the new website?

hugs

Thanks for the questions. :)

The review should definitely be done in Google Docs. After a translation is taken out of Pootle, it pretty much always gets changed/improved/etc. You want to preserve these changes, so you forget about the Pootle version and work only on the latest version - in this case in Google Docs.

As a general rule - when working in Pootle, always have the original open and take a look at it from time to time. In this case, you can have the site page you are working on open up in another tab, so that you have a better view of how things are arranged (visual context) and you are more sure you're working on the latest version of the English text.

That said, I made a diff between old and new pages and here is what has changed.
Changed pages:
About/Resource Based Economy - removed {yootooltip} code, removed the word "still" from one sentence: Diff Checker - Online diff tool that compares text to find the difference between two text files
About/Aims and Proposals - a heading added in the beginning, removed {yootooltip} code: Diff Checker - Online diff tool that compares text to find the difference between two text files
About/Resume - multiple changes. Seems like the page was significantly expanded very recently.
About/Essay - removed {yootooltip} code, 'sociologist' made plural: Diff Checker - Online diff tool that compares text to find the difference between two text files

I was just wondering what the news is about the new TVP website.
I believe there will be new sections to be translated. Will this all be uploaded to Pootle quite soon, or will we need to wait a little?

Currently the new TVP website does not yet have multilingual support enabled. It will have, but unfortunately I can't give an exact estimate as to when.

The content has also been reorganized to some extent, to hopefully better present TVP to the public. There have been new bits and pieces added to the core content, but I'd say they are subject to change and not that well set in stone.

Hopefully that answers the question about Pootle as well.
