Z-Day 2013 - Sharleen Bazeghi

Hi Suze,

I'm not sure if by "Portal beta" you mean the new PMS that we are currently testing. If so, it is showing there as Open for 1st proofreading.

I see it in DASHBOARD > ENGLISH > Videos > In Progress > Videos in Transcription > 1 > Zeitgeist Day 2013: Sharleen Bazeghi "Introduction to The Zeitgeist Movement"

I'm still very eager to translate this brief introdutcion. What's the current state of affair?

Again, I proofread it, and there are just these few points that I bring up to discussion:

03:48.800 - 03:54.000 that is simply accepted as normality today, by an uninformed majority.
[ Question: Is the comma here really necessary? ]

04:14.300 - 04:18.800 of human knowledge, and our technical ability to resolve problems,
[ Question: Is the comma here really necessary? ]

04:18.800 - 04:24.700 but more so, to facilitate a new, scientifically derived social system,
[ Question: Is the first comma here really necessary? ]

07:04.600 - 07:07.000 The ancients whims and dynamics of the dominant
[ I'm not sure if she says "ancients whims" - it sounds like "ancient whims" ]

02:14 - 02:18 potential science and technology available, that is not applied
[ I agree with JPH that corrected it in "is not applied" if that's more grammatically correct ]

The rest of this transcript looks good. That goes for the timestamps aswell.

Is there some life circulating around this project here?
Thanks for your feedback ;)

Hi, Franky
Wiki is showing that it hasn't been jumped on for the 1st stage of English proofreading yet. Hm....things are moving slowly right now on the English Team. I'll announce this in the Skype Group to see if we can get some movement on it. Maybe your enthusiasm will rub off on the Team. I sure hope so...

((hugs)) from me,
Di

Thank you very much Di Anna.

Thank you Suze, aswell ^^

I didn't found an open pad for corrections and suggestions to this video.
But it would be nice to learn from a natvie speaker if my above made points are valid. ^^

Hugs to you both ;)

You're welcome, Franky
I can tell you that you have made some valid points about comma corrections needed in this video. I didn't want to comment before the other proofers took a shot at them. After Suze completes her work, I'll do a Final Review and answer your questions.

((hugs)) from me,
Di

Thanks for the helpful notes, Franky. You make some very valid points regarding the transcription. As you will see from the DiffCheck, I have corrected the errors you've pointed out and made some changes of my own, including tightening up the timestamps, which is easier to do with the off-line tools. If you have any comments, or wish to discuss any of my changes/corrections, please feel free to holla at me.

:peace:

p.s. - This still needs a Final Review.

Final Review Completed

Okee, Dokee Guys!

@Suze,
I changed two things.

00:01:12,186 --> 00:01:14,986
It is our intention that by the end of the program,
I enclosed [that] in brackets because she didn't actually say the word. It does make the sentence structure better, though.

00:07:41,740 --> 00:07:44,399
we have people actually talking about "being green",
I changed the quotes to single quotes because this is a phrase, not a direct quotation.

@Franky,
Suze changed all of the issues you raised (and I agree too), except for the following one, which we left unchanged. 'But more so' is an introductory phrase and the comma is good there.
04:18.800 - 04:24.700 but more so, to facilitate a new, scientifically derived social system,
[ Question: Is the first comma here really necessary? ]

I say it's ready for translators, guys! Very nice job! :clap:

((BIG hugs))
