Transcribe Jacque Fresco-Corrupting Factors, Social Responsibility-Feb 14, 2011

Hey man,

I hope I'm doing the right thing! I've started to transcribe the video in the subject header and I think it's going alright.

One thing, how can I save and reopen the video? Please let me know! I hope I haven't jumped the gun!

Cheers,

Ali (brasali) from Scotland, but living in Brasil... :-]

Hey Brasali, you're really active from the start, that's great news for the team !

About saving your transcription: dotSUB saves everything you do automatically as soon as you add or modify anything at all, and unless somebody comes in and starts messing with your work, which is very unlikely, your work will not be lost !!

Also, in case nobody told you yet, it is very important to try and respect the linguistic team guidelines for transcriptions, which are available here. These are important not only to guarantee that work is done well from the start, but also to ensure that proofreaders and timestamp adjusters will have the minimum amount of work to do.

Good luck ! (We're here if you need anything)

couldn't understand some words due to mumbling

Thanks man, Much appreciated!

I have another quick question. In the video I'm transcribing, there is a part where Jacque mumbles something and I can't for the life of me work out what it is. I mentioned this in the notes section, but if you could maybe give me some idea of what to do I'd be very grateful. Cheers! brasali...

Here it is: 03:39 - 03:45 -- I cannot figure out what Jacque says at the lined part --- "Unless he gave it to some charity, ---, the man is truly religious"

Regarding the Guidelines, I have the page open all the time so I can constantly refer to it and inform myself if I have any doubts whatsoever. Im currently working as a Translator and English Teacher here in Brazil, so my time is limited at the moment. However I am willing to give as much time as is available to me in order to help this exciting and inspiring project. I hope to be able to contribute in various areas of the project and get involved in any way possible. Cheers!

Hey Brasali,

I can't figure out this 03:39 spot as well... In those cases I leave a [???] in the subtitle to let proofreaders know that I couldn't make it out. There are 3 other people who are going to go through this video, so it'll be corrected.
