Nope, those are two separate efforts. But of course, you can timeshift and proofread at the same time, I do that :)

This video is now opened for a little round of timeshifting, which shouldn't be long since yours truly has transcribed it :kewl:

This video is awaiting a second round of English proofreading, as the title of this thread indicates. The usual English proofreaders haven't been active for the last two weeks, so we're waiting for someone to do the work.

I do speak english very well and toppled the average english score in US highschool back then. Usually Europeans can write better English than most US highschool kids and I confirmed that to myself during my high school year :)

Hence I would like to participate in getting this thing done. Usual proofreading on Dotsub or is anything special I need to use, like an external tool?

Please let me know if this is acceptable to the english team. I am not a native english speaker, but I do speak and listen to English more than German anyway

much love
Marius

Many non-natives have proofread English transcriptions in the past for us (including myself), so you're more than welcome to do so too! No tools needed, everything's done on dotSUB. Just make sure you read the English language guidelines carefully before you start, and I suggest you refer back to those guidelines if you have doubts about how to handle this or that situation. Another important thing is to take notes on the choices you make during proofreading that you think deserve a justification.

I'm not talking about writing a note for each change you make, but only for those strings where you feel that a change needs to be made in order to increase clarity or for any other relevant reason. You'll find a link to a notepad on the first post of each project thread.

Of course, feedback is important as well, so if you feel that something needs to be covered in our guidelines or for any other commend related to our proofreading process, you can post it in the LTI guidelines thread.

The only step that we try to keep off-limits for non natives is final reviewing. We keep those aside for those who know the system well enough and feel comfortable being the last ones reviewing a transcription and have a very good command of the English language. Di Anna is our final reviewing queen at the moment :)

Doing next round

Sound like this one's gonna be fast. I'll get my editing tools ready and see what I can do.
Love these RT interviews, though, and PJ? Yep, I love him too!

(((hugs)))
