I think it's obviously there's something missing after "highs."

I heard it's "...record highs we've just found out."

Hi, should "wedge" here be "wage"?
I fail to understand what "wedge" here mean within the context if I match it with the sentences above and below this one.

If "wedge" is correct, could you please tell me what it means in this context as well?

Hi sydstf : )

I hear wedge clearly and I found this link to explain what it is: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/wedge

Hard to choose between the dictionary options, since PJ talks here about "finding a wedge". I would use the most similar term for "opening", as"finding an opening" where we can be a part of the society instead of being left behind craving. Something like that?
