While I agree with what you are saying about the change in meaning with that word change, I've listened as intently as possible, and I believe she says "Well", not "While". Maybe we should have some others listen to weigh in, but I would keep it as it is.

I will be glad to reopen the video and make the change in the transcription once we've reached a consensus. Let's hear from some others.

You would not believe it: I even agree with you on this point, that it really sounds like Shar is saying "well".

But unfortunately this onte sentence "Well, the term activism is correct by its exact meaning here" doesn't make sense as a single entity as long there's a direct reference to this "activism" that she means in the next lines.

"While the term activism is correct by its exact meaning here TZM's awareness work should not be misconstrued as the culturally-common activist/protest actions we have historically seen."

It's also the tone that she sets in this sentence "Well, the term activism is correct by its exact meaning here" that confuses me that she seems to use this sentence as an 'intro'-line to the following lines: "...TZM's awareness work should not be misconstrued as the..."

Aswell in the next lines she explains how the activism really is by stating with "Rather, TZM expresses itself mostly through..."

Dunno, it's just a feeling that this is correct even if her "while" at the beginning is really pronounced and sounding like "well".
And you're right, let's get closer to this by a peer-review of others.
I'll additionally contact Shar via fb to clear this up.
