The 'quote' discussion needs to take place among the translators, but I'd like to point out that the placement of the end quote seems a bit off to me.

Ben's sarcastic vocal inflection seems restricted to highlighting the words 'of course'; a description of that 'type' of mentality.

So after sleeping on this several days I've revised towards: Run with the native speaker grammar rule and the translators adjust if needed (if the vid is American English), ie option 3, for these reasons:

1. First and foremost, we are not, in general, talking about a lot of content here to adjust. I mean, think about it: Even in a long piece like this one, the quotes adjustments are only in what- 5 or 6 places, maybe 10 at most? In over 1800 lines?

2. If we simply make it part of the job description for the language proofers, it's established and becomes their standard, so it's not necessarily looked at some kind of burden.

3. Even if the language proofers skip this step, is it the end of the world? No. Do they get fired? No. Is the viewer going to be mortally offended and never again watch another LTI-captioned video? Unlikely. Is the full meaning of the translation still conveyed? Yes. So what if this particular tiny piece of the translation is skipped? Even though slightly less than perfect in this regard it's not gonna make a tremendous amount of difference; the main thing is the translation itself.

Perhaps we can discuss further in TS tomorrow.

Moving Forward

Way to go, Mr. B :bow:

It's time to get this show on the road. Thank you for stepping up and callin' it. Option 3 is fine with me. It does seem the most respectful to the speakers. Unless someone has more to add at the meeting, I'm good to go with Option 3 from this point on.

OK, changes applied, I am hereby done with my final PR of the 2nd half, and am also officially burnt out on this project LOL!!
