Guys, I'm proofreading ZMF right now and I reached a point where Mc Murtry says the following ( 55:28 ) :

but we transcribed it as :

This might look harmless, but a French translator translated it as "where" and the sentence looses its impact.

It's meant to be translated as (in my opinion) : "This is insanity by definition, where you keep doing the same thing over and over again."

You have an addition of elements, the verb shouldn't be in singular form. (That's the way it is in French, at least :D ), and Peter doesn't add an 's' either

Cheers! :) Checked it - you are right. It didn't affect Rus translation though, but really appreciate this as sometimes small mistakes can lead to totally different translation.

Nice catch for the first one, but the second is grammatically correct, even if PJ didn't vocalize it properly. This does NOT mean that it is also correct grammar for other languages, however. :huh:

This is due to the fact that the market system requires that “cost efficiency” or [exclusive, not inclusive, conjunction] the need [subject] to reduce expenses exists [third person singular present verb] at every stage of production.

The conjunction 'or' used above points to one OR the other, so this is not an addition of elements. Rather, it's a choice between two phrases (cost efficiency vs. the need to reduce expenses). In this light, one OR the other 'exists'.

Having said all of that, I'd REALLY like to have Di's thoughts on this, since she's the English Teacher around here. ^^

from 2:12:23, when PJ is interrupted by a "troller", why do we put what he says in brackets ? I think we should use the convention in the guidelines, which says that a non visible speaker should be preceded by his name, or function, in brackets.

Same goes for the announcer that talks about PJs heart attack

Regarding the new speakers, I thought we were still putting a hyphen infront of the new voice. If we write a name or use brackets, it takes up more characters and space.

A viewer on YouTube commented on our French ZMF upload and I realized the typo is present in the English transcript as well.

At 45:35, McMurtry says "god is immanent" not imminent (which doesn't make sense)
