I updated the wiki videos table; I can see on the English Proofreading and Timestamp Adjustment tab that I better hurry on the timeshifting, since that is the stage where most projects are I will be a timeshifting machine this week and catch up with that , no worries.

Hi Neo!! That was great news!! I see it has 14:30s, so it seems to fit our transcription. You can download that video and download also the SRT transcription file from the Working Location: http://dotsub.com/view/16eb3054-1754-4839-8017-0fbdb5f89ed7

With both the video and the SRT you will create a new project in Visual Sub Sync (VSS) an then you are ready to go. Watch out only for the VSS settings you have to set up yourself before starting, as it will automate much of the work for you.

During timeshifting you are proofreading the string structure - or in other words, the way the transcriber built the strings - while synchronizing the strings with the sound and image. The guidelines could need some adjustment since we improved the process in the last months quite a lot. Basically, the guidelines are the same but there is some priority and margin of non compliance in some of the guidelines over the others, which I will try to resume here: The harmony and ability to read are the most important. If the <70 characters guideline gets broken but it is the only way to actually have time to read the content, that is preferable. (lately we tend to have many strings above 75 characters and there was no complaints by the translators yet Synchronization is also secondary to harmony and ability to read the content. We can always leave a note to the English Proofreaders, that will get in action after our timeshifting, suggesting to cut some words that are irrelevant for the meaning - or any other solution that we find.
