UPDATE:
At this point, the TCIO Translate-a-thon is now over, and the video has been publicly released with 30+ translations included.
A MASSIVE Thank You to everyone who participated to make the project so successful!
This project has been recreated as a 'normal' LTI project under a new thread, where additional language teams can add to the total above.
Hi everyone!
We are extremely excited to present the launch of the "The Choice Is Ours" (TCIO) Documentary Translate-a-thon! (not the little trailer )
The English transcript is now fully transcribed, proofread, refined, re-proofread and finalized, so we're ready to rock on the translations.
The project will be a pure "text to text" translation handled within Google spreadsheets, again, similarly to how we handled "Zeitgeist: Moving forward" and "Paradise or Oblivion". Similar to those projects/translate-a-thons, this project includes a non-disclosure agreement to ensure that the content stays out of the 'public eye' until its official public release, and all translations completed by the deadline will be included to the public release of the documentary.
The first step is for us to populate the project's language groups and then, once we begin translating, we'll have about 2 weeks to complete all related tasks (collaborative translation, proofreading & final review). Once registered, all Language Coordinators/Project Managers should connect with me as soon as possible for a quick "tour" of the automated project management system that Ben (Italian LTI co-coordinator) has developed for this one.
To join in on the phun, fill out the "The Choice Is Ours" Translation Marathon - NDA" form (linked below), using whatever email account you normally use with Google Documents. As soon as I receive your confirmation (be sure to check your email Inbox for it!), you will be added to the list of qualified translators and will be made aware as soon as the project is ready to rock.

At this point, TCIO now has 67 volunteers spanning 22 languages. The breakdown of forming teams can be seen here, and the page is automatically updated as new volunteers join the project.
Smaller teams (Albanian, Bulgarian, Danish, German, Japanese, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Sesotho, Slovenian, etc.) obviously need more help, so please spread the word far & wide that this project is now beginning its translation phase and the smaller teams need all the help they can get to meet the Feb 18th deadline.

We're now up to 128 translation/proofreading volunteers across 33 languages, which is becoming quite impressive.
There are still far too many language teams with only one or two people ( http://goo.gl/2khiiz ), so if you're a strong multi-lingualist and one of those small team languages is yours, consider chipping in to help get this done for your language before the big, loud public release of "The Choice Is Ours". The deadline is now set at February 18th (less than two weeks away), so this could make for a short, but exciting collaborative experience.

Hi Cosmin,
The instructions for joining the project are in the first post of this thread. Fill in and submit the NDA form, and then reply to the confirmation email that it sends to you. I will then be able to add you to the Romanian Team, managed by Marcel & Vasile.
After joining the translation list what are the next steps? Are the translations going to be done in the same way like the normal projects here in LTI?

Hi Tommy,
If you're looking to join the The Choice Is Ours translate-a-thon, that's now over, as the documentary has just been publicly released.
Because certain materials need translations before they are released, the objective of these kinds of projects is for as many languages to dive in immediately and try to 'beat the deadline'. In this case, we were able to produce 27 language translations before the video was opened up to the rest of the world.
Of course, the vast majority of materials within our care are handled much calmer, with no deadlines, within the individual Language Teams, as they become ready to take on each one. The Spanish Team has a LOT of translations completed (I'm not sure if all of them), so they are in need of more experienced proofreaders to help finalize them so they can be released/distributed to the world.
