It took me hours to copy & paste line by line while directly adjusting the timestamps.

From 00:58:00:000 to 01:11:00:000 I received help from someone creating these lines within one hour.

My question are, who was that, how is this possible and which tool is used to get a transcript created this fast.

I'm looking forward to the answers. :)

And here comes the really good news: this lecture is transcribed and ready for PR1

Please let me know your thoughts before you change anything in the transcript.

you were quite fast there hehe. I was never able to go that fast. I use VisualSubSynch.

To transcribe, which implies building the strings, create times and add the text, the tasks of synchronizing plus researching on terms, etc, makes it a heavy and long task. But maybe not synching them at millimeter can save some time and the english proofreader, P1 or P2, can synchronize while proofreading, in case it is someone who works offline in VSS or similar.

This lecture is transcribed and ready for Proofreading
The transcript should be 98% clean for I used an already proofread, transcibed version of Peter's original-script.

So what are the usual next steps within this project?

Does someone care for proofreading the transcript and adjusting the timestamps?
What kind of programs can/will be used for this task?

Hey there! It wasn't me BTW, nevertheless I think a couple of thinks could help. first there are several tools you can use to create subs, even pasting the text and saving it in different extensions could help create an unsynchronized file. Then if you ever try amara.org you will see how easy is to sync. Thanks for the hard job.

There is a new approach being tested between some of the English team volunteers. It consists in no specific focus stages but rather on each person taking the video in the next round to proofread all the parameters: English grammar and accuracy of content, the string structure and the synchronization. If everyone does the best it can, with nno rush and sharing feedback with each others, we can only improve and make this collaboration more fun. It is not fun to proofread transcriptions that are not structured, synched and with many English grammar typos. It takes long time and gives the feeling that we would be better doing it on our own from scratch; many become unmotivated and aren't so active. I am pretty sure we can change that and make this effort stronger. For those who wish to follow the new strategy, here is the thread: Making the Timeshifting Stage Obsolete

I'm still proofreading the transcription and adjusting the timestamps.

Hopefully will be finished with this task within the next week.

From that on some precisely working human beings are needed to watch the whole lecture with subs and note what missing or should be optimized.

Please do not touch the current transcription as long as I'm not finished with transcribing. Thank you very much.

I'm pretty sure we'll create a professional result reagarding this project. ;)

Pass me your dotSUB username and we can lock it down so that only you have access to it until you complete your solo efforts. If you're working on it with a group of others, pass over their usernames, too, and we'll create an access group for it.
